Those of us who are fortunate enough to call the West 'Home' are surrounded by dramatic landscapes, rowdy, vibrant towns and cities, boundless recreational opportunities, and wonderful people.  We have the unique ability to completely change our surroundings in a small matter of time.  For some of us, a 5 minute walk from our front door will place us along a hiking trail in the foothills of rugged mountains.  For others, a few hours along a western highway may take them to the dramatic Red Rock country of Southeastern Utah, the openness of the great divide, or the base of the mighty Colorado Rockies.  Where else in the world can somebody experience natural splendors as diverse as the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, or the sprawling Idaho wilderness?  The West is truly a land of natural spoils.

As residents of Ogden, Utah, nestled at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains and a 20 minute drive to 3 ski resorts, we have grown to love the West for all that it has to offer.  With relatives in Wyoming, Washington, and Saskatchewan, we have had the ability to drive through spectacular country, spend time in amazing communities, and partake in experiences that can only be found in the West.  That being said, we are also aware that there are many wonderful places in this region that we have yet to experience.

The reasons for this blog are simple: we love our city of Ogden, and we want to share our experiences here.  We love traveling, and we want to showcase the beauty of where we travel.  We love to ski, hike, fish, and hunt, and we want to show how easy it is to experience these incredible opportunities in the West.  We will highlight trips, trails, cities, and culture on this blog.  IF we travel to a new city, we will do our best to share with the viewers our experiences, recommendations, mistakes, and findings.  When we spend time in Northern Utah, we will share with you everything from our favorite ski runs to our evenings enjoying Ogden's thriving downtown.

The West is a spectacular place.  We love living here, and we hope that this blog will inspire you to walk out your front door, hop in the car, and B West.
